A piece built for your wall, not adapted to fit it.
Custom commissions let you specify the palette, dimensions, and mood of a piece before it's painted — built from the outset for a specific wall, specific light, and a specific room. Custom work carries a premium over an available piece of comparable size, reflecting the additional planning and exclusivity of a one-off commission.
Consultation
We start with a conversation — your space, wall dimensions, ceiling height, existing palette, and the feeling you want the room to hold. Photos or a video walkthrough of the wall are enormously helpful here, especially for foyers and stairwells where scale is everything.
Concept & Deposit
Once the direction is set, a 50% deposit books your commission slot on the calendar. Because each piece is built and painted individually, slots are limited — the deposit is what reserves your place in the schedule, not just the material cost.
Studio Time
Large-scale pieces take several weeks from first panel build to final varnish — there's no shortcut to hand-built, hand-painted work at 8 feet across. You'll receive progress updates along the way, not just a single reveal at the end.
Delivery & Installation
Within Ottawa, professional delivery and installation is included in every commission. Outside Ottawa, delivery and installation is quoted individually based on distance, access, and site conditions. The balance is due on completion, before delivery.
Deposits
A 50% deposit is required to book any commission slot. Deposits are non-refundable once work on a commission begins, as the deposit reserves dedicated studio time and materials specific to your piece.
Timeline
Large-scale pieces (6–8 feet) typically take several weeks in the studio. An estimated timeline is confirmed at the consultation stage based on current commission volume.
Delivery
Delivery and installation within Ottawa is included. Outside Ottawa, it's quoted individually based on distance and site access.
